Welcome to Midwest Baptist Association!

We are a gathering of Canadian National Baptist Convention Churches in the province of Alberta, Yukon Territory, and Northwest Territories.  We believe that we can do more together than we ever could alone.  We partner together to share the message of Jesus, start churches, strengthen churches, and send volunteer teams.  We are excited to see what God is doing in our province and territories.

Feature Story:  Edmonton Church Looks North

For two consecutive years Edmonton Chinese Baptist Church (ECBC) has had the privilege of teaming up with Tlicho Baptist Church in sharing God’s word with the Rae-Edzo community of the Northwest Territories. Both times we have been welcomed by children who are desperate to experience the love that God offers them.

The first year our team was excited about the unknown adventure that lay before them. The following year the team was eager to make a difference. This year the team has some new and some returning members, all anxious for God to work through us to make his presence known in this community.

We offer ourselves and bring a variety of ministries, including kids camp (VBS), art, sports, community projects, and adult Bible studies, with the desire to share the Good News with the people of Rae-Edzo. Each year we learn more about their needs and God provides the necessary resources and knowledge for us to return.

The most noticeable change occurs in the team from before and after each trip. Being in a foreign place encourages our reliance on God and our Christian brothers and sisters. We mature in our relationship with God. We discover and develop the gifts He has given us. We return to ECBC each year with people excited to enter new leadership roles and people refreshed in their current leadership roles. Last year in Rae-Edzo we saw fruit developing there. Children openly accepting God’s Word during Bible study, all singing along in unison to praise God, remembering the names of all the previous missions’ team members, and excited to have us come again this year.
God is working in the lives of people in Rae-Edzo and in Edmonton Chinese Baptist Church.
